'Stalybridge Clinic. The clinic entrance was on Stamford Street but it could also be accessed via the War memorial on the right hand side of Trinity Street which also led to the river walk and on to Old Street near Portland Place. One Saturday evening my friend and I decided we would stay out all night. So we each told our parents that we were staying at each other’s house and so our adventure began! We walked all round Stalybridge and then decided it may be a good idea to at least get some sleep. The only place we could find was in the doorway of the clinic and so that was what we did. Not to be recommended and not possible today because the area is now blocked off to the public!'
