'In 2003 I was able to afford a second hand 40ft cabin cruiser/narrow boat, I often cruised down in to Stalybridge. In 2003 I went on a trip right through the Huddersfield canal through Stalybridge to Huddersfield going through the Standedge tunnel. There is a massive 76 locks on this run, you have to apply a lot of energy but its great fun. Going through the Standedge tunnel itself is the highest, longest and deepest canal tunnel in England and took over two hours. '
