'About 10 years ago we were sat with our grandson in the square in the centre of Stalybridge. There was a narrow boat in the lock, the men were taking a break, sitting on the lock gate eating fish and chips. They saw that our grandson was interested in the narrow boat and invited us in to look inside, he was so excited to see it. '
