Born and Bread Stalybridge!

Adam Reid, winner of the Great British Menu and internationally-renowned Chef-Patron of The French in Manchester, developed simple, new celebratory dishes that reflect the community, culture and history of Stalybridge. Chef Adam, creates a unique ‘Northern’ approach to dining. He has also won the Great British Menu twice, most notably with his incredible Golden Empire signature dessert. As part of the 2022 Greater Manchester Town of Culture celebrations, Adam was commissioned to develop this project with the people of the town being called upon to help create it, by sharing old recipes, food stories, memories and knowledge that have helped with its creation. Adam’s campaign is called Born and Bread. Here are some Stalybridge inspired recipes that Adam has created from listening to the people of Stalybridge and researching important recipes and ingredients of the past.
